Call of Duty - World At War

Call of Duty world at war is the sequel to Call of Duty Modern Warfare also available on PS3, Xbox and PC etc. The Game known to those who regularly play it as WAW or COD/COD5 is set in war torn Pacific and European battle grounds in the final days of World War II (WWII).

The graphics are excellent provided mainly by the Blu-ray disc that PS3 users have become accustomed with. Having played the same game on a different format of console, namely the Xbox, it is clear to see that the graphics are a lot sharper on the PS3 down mainly to the fact that it is on a Blu-Ray disc.

Most people who buy this game are fans of the series of games known as Call of Duty (1,2,3 etc) however the latest installment (World at War) has torn the community in half as it hasn't been developed by the same developer as Call of Duty modern warfare. Treyarch the developers have been criticised for not adding unique features to this game, instead using the old game engine from COD4 to play it safe.

Gamers wide and far are awaiting the release of the next Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 which has been developed by the original producers of the Call of Duty series and not Treyarch who developed WAW. As a result of the divide in the community over this game, it has been rumored that the new COD will not be called COD... instead adopting Modern Warfare 2 as its title, separating it from the bad press associated with WAW.

Nevertheless COD5 is one of my all time favourite games and I await the release of the next chapter in the series on Nov 10th 2009
