Advantages: Glaive is Fun, Solid Gameplay, Good range of enemys and weapons
Disadvantages: Short, Weak Story
Dark Sector is a third person shooter where you play as the main character, Hayden Tenno, and elite black ops agent.
Gameplay: Dark Sectors plays out like most other third person shooters out nowadays such as Gears of War. Dark Sectors features a cover system to which is welcomed to the game but can sometimes be clunky. A good feature of Dark Sectors gameplay would be the glaive. This is the main weapon you will use throughout the game, and i have to say it is very entertaining to use. The glaive is a 3 pointed blade which you can throw at the enemy from a distance to cause decapitation of the enemy, and then automatically have it come directly back to you (Sort of like a boomerang) Throughout the game the effectiveness of the Glaive increaes as you gain extra powers such as directly controlling the blade, being able to make elemental explosions, and other upgrades such as turning invisible. Dark Sector also boasts a wide range of wepaonry throughtout the game also which can be brought from a dealer in the black market. The weapons vary from the regular pistol to powerful shotguns and automatic machineguns. The levels throughout Dark sector are quite basic in thier gameplay. While they can be fun, they get repetitive as they follow the scheme of kill enemys, progress, kill enemys, progress and then get to end. And if youure lucky youll get a boss battle or a basic puzzle.
Graphics: The graphics of Dark Sector are quite standard for a game on the Unreal Engine 3, and are quite good.
Story: The story of Dark Sector is basic, and if youre looking for a story driven game, go somewhere else because this game is not one. Whiles the story starts out strong, it seems to just go shallow after the first level. And if youre expecting the ending to be good, you're gonna be suprised because like the story its shallow and un-climactic.
Overall, id say that Dark Sector is a good game if you cna get it cheap like i could, but dont spend any more than £15 to get it, because its not worth it, and I found it to somewhat short.
Summary: A good game, but not worth full price
