BACKGROUND

Devil May Cry (DMC) is the 4th installment in the DMC series of games which started life as an aborted attempt for a resident evil game. The first game was meant to have been released on the Dreamcast but instead found its way to the PS2.

For those new to the game, it features a demon hunter by the name of Dante as he sets to rid the world of evil.

THE GAME

This 4th instalment put players in control of a newcomer to the series 'Nero', who at first glance appears to be a clone of Dante.

The introduction is well done and sets up the scene perfectly for the rest of the game.

I wont give much away but the controls for whatever character you play as, are spot on.

The Graphics and sound have taken a huge leap as expected and overall it is a good game. Add to the the mixture cool cut scenes, entertaining boss battles and you begin to get an idea of what to expect... a cool action game!

However you might want to consider the following:
1. Transition between characters feels a bit abrupt;
2. The in game camera can frustrate many;
3 There is alot of backtracking involved, which is disappointing;

As an overall package, the game is enjoyable but veterans cannot amiss the rushed feeling and incompleteness of the game. While a good game, that can be enjoyed, it is a missed opportunity to create some truly amazing.

GOOD 7/10

Summary: A good game overall, though a missed opportunity to create something better than good
