Disadvantages: Only 20 levels to level up

Ok many people keep saying 'think Oblivion with guns' when they want to describe what Fallout 3 is and they're absolutely right! Fallout 3 is developed by the people who gave you Oblivion and other Elder Scrolls games Bethesda Game Studios and is another RPG action game very similar to Oblivion already on the PLAYSTATION 3. Oblivion is an awesome game that is truly massive in the amount of time it takes out of your life and Fallout 3 is absolutely no exception!

Fallout 3 takes place in the apocalyptic future of 2277 where you take control of a person in one of the Vault-Tec vaults that is 'Vault 101' where one day your dad manages to leave to vault unexplained and you decide to escape and find out where he's gone, thus leading you on various exciting and time consuming adventures and quests across the wasteland that is Washington D.C.

Combat is very similar to Oblivion again as you have the first person perspective or the third person perspective but with the introduction of a new system called V.A.T.S which is simply amazingly fun. What you do is aim your weapon and go into V.A.T.S and the combat freezes and you get a choice of what part of the body on your enemies you want to target and it shows a percentage of the damage that is to incur after you shoot and it really is fun see the head blown off of a mutant with blood flying everywhere in slow motion even if that does sound a bit wrong... you should defiantly try it!

There are plenty of quests to keep you occupied if you don't fancy doing the storyline quests and these have a wide variety of things to do from escorting a teenager to an Adult camp to solving the rift between to 'super heroes/villains'. If these don't keep you occupied then collecting the trophies and finding all 20 of those bobble heads will insure countless hours discovering weird and wonderful unknown things.

Fallout 3 includes a levelling mode as does any RPG and this is quite similar to Oblivions as you choose points to increase certain attributes such as intelligence and endurance. However, there are only 20 levels to progress too and it doesn't take long to get there so that's a pretty big downside. The other feature which is a real bonus is each time you level up you get access to certain perks that can help you such as increased accuracy in V.A.T.S or ones that can just be fun such as a perk that make enemies explode when shot in V.A.T.S.

This is a very good game and is on par with Oblivions sheer awesomeness and vast length of time it takes to complete absolutely everything. If you liked Oblivion then I can pretty much guarantee you'll find something you like to keep you occupied as it is draws you in for hours on end.

Summary: 9.5/10
