Oblivion with nuke launchers! (Fallout 3 (PS3))

Fallout 3 is the latest free roaming RPG by Bethesda creators of such games as The Elder Scrolls.

The story of Fallout 3 starts off on a linear path, its a really atmospheric opening stage where you play through your childhood years which determines how you grow up. You live in Vault 101, vaults were created to keep people safe from the radiation of the wasteland, all is going well until one day your dad leaves the vault! You are shocked by this and so go after him and the adventure begins..

Once out of the vault you will emerge into the Capital Wasteland, yes its like coming out of the sewers in Oblivion all over again! There are a ton of things you can now do, you can persue the main story quests which have you try and find your father and the reasons of why he left. Or you can do any of the games many side missions which are just as good as the main story.

The missions involve many different things, like you may have to rescue someone from vampires, collect Nuka Cola for a caffeine addict, rescue some kids that have been taken as slaves, write a survival guide and a whole bunch more.

The gameplay is similar to Oblivion, you play in first person primarily but there is an awkward looking third person camera that you can use. The weapons you use however are totally different, being set much further into the future than Oblivion you will come across many different firearms, laser pistols, nuke launchers, shotguns and so on.

The gunplay is like a regular FPS, use your dual analogs to line up your shots and triggers to fire, with the addition of the VATS system where the game pauses and allows you to target a specific location of an enemy and attack it.

The only bad thing is that this version of Fallout 3 currently has none of the downloadable content of the Xbox 360 version, though it is apparently coming soon which is good news.

Its a great immersive and very big game that will keep you playing for ages with its many missions. If you like role playing games buy it!
