Advantages: Obviously appeals to many others.

Disadvantages: Slow, boring and terrible sound effects!

Many people rave about this game, so much so that I went and ordered a copy so as not to miss out on such a fantastic title!

Clearly, I must have very different tastes than those who give this game anything above 2 stars, I found Fallout 3 dire.

The game is so slow moving, I nearly nodded off. All you seem to do is talk to people, walk around a bit, then talk to some more people, then shoot an ant. Admittedly, I didn't play the game for long so probably didn't see the full package, but if a game doesn't grab me in the first 2 hours then it probably never will. The first hour of the game is incredibly tedious, you play as a baby, then a 10 year old (where you must chat to people at your party...yawn), then you get to 16 where the highlights include sitting an exam, shooting a cockroach and have a scrap with another 'inmate' of the vault - thrilling.

Once outside the vault, I hoped things would hot up and the action would start, but no. My first mission to defuse an atom bomb which sounded interesting - however diffusing the bomb consisted of a prompt saying 'do you wish to defuse the bomb' and me pressing 'yes' - job done.

A bit more walking around and a lot more idol chit chat, I had to fight off a swarm of fire breathing ants, which wouldn't die and became incredibly annoying. That was enough.

The graphics are so-so (not much colour going on), the sound effects are awful and the gameplay plods on like a stoned hippo.

I know that some people love RPG's and that the fact your response to character interaction can define your gameplaying experience, but it's not for me. The trailers I saw showed lots of gun wielding action, which I magine comes later in the game, but I had no desire to get to that stage!

Oh and the much over rated 'targeting system' annoyed me too, it takes all the skill out of shooting your enemies!

I traded this game in and lost £7 by doing so, but I got Uncharted to replace it, and well, it was worth every penny! Buy that instead!

Summary: PS3 can and does do better!

I tried this (briefly). Got as far as the ants, got bored, put my shoes on and went shopping instead! :)
