I picked this up in a high street retailer for the bargain price of £5 lately and have to be honest never been off it. Its proved to be an addictive, challenging and fun experience and that comes from a gamer who does not usually take to racing games.
Ferrari Challenge is based on the long standing racing series in which the fastest and best cars from the brand compete on the worlds most famous racecourses. Inherent in the game is the full range of cars from the latest and fastest machines to traditional old school classics. I am no car expert and usually unlocking cars in games doesn't bother me but the fact you only start with one car here and have to work to actually get more makes it a worthwhile cause. I have never been one to take to racing games in this way but the "one more race" idea has kept me up way past my bedtime over the past few weeks.
The game itself is not an Arcade race and goes down the line of such titles as Forza and the Gran Turismo series in terms of trying to give a realistic racer. And it delivers. It takes some getting used to and the cars are hard to handle at first but that's all part of the realism. It will take time and effort to get great at this, even to start winning against the easiest AI takes some practice. Each track and new car needs to be learned before victory. The AI is solid too meaning you get a deep racing experience.
The graphics are superb and all the cars and tracks look stunning in HD. One race in the rain is enough to convince you this is up there with the very best in terms of graphics.
All the modes you would expect from a racing game are there from the tough Challenge (aka world Championship) mode to the time trials, arcade and a popular online mode which runs well and support 16 players.
All in all Ferrari Challenge will give even the most experienced gamers a race to be tackled and the whole package is superb with everything you need in a racing title. At the price of £5 on average it cannot be sniffed at.

Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli - Another racing type game which came out to the gaming world. It is much like Need for speed series of games but in this Ferrari game as you can see by the name most of or maybe all of the cars in the game are Ferraris. So if you are really into Ferraris and sport cars this is the game for you.
There are plenty of Ferrari models which you can play as during the game. I am not really into Ferraris at the moment but most of them in the game there names ring a bell in my head, I am not sure if there is any made up models in it though.
The tracks that you play on can really look real life, especially that it is on the PS3, that definitely makes the graphics better for every game out. There will be pit stops sometimes in selected courses and stuff like that which makes the game really intense.
As in most car games you can go to the garage option to customize your car. I am afraid in this car game it lacks the quantity of customized features to add on to your car. They are really plain with no real colour in them. There is no special wheels or turners of stuff like that, and if there is they would be plain.
Coming to the graphics part of my review, as I may of mentioned above how realistic the game is, and some points the graphics will just be completely poor with no effect in them at all, but that is sometimes and this is kind of weird. Some tracks have good graphics and the rest are all bad, really strange!!!
Coming on to the challenges, take this for instance, the F430 Challenge, the games main single player mode replicates real-life meets in North America, Italy, and Europe, where well-heeled Ferrari owners come together to race their really, really expensive cars. Each meet consists of one qualifier and two races, with the winner over a season determined by who gets the most points from all the previous races which will occur. An entire season of racing will probably take you 4-5 hours or so to complete, resulting in well over 12 hours if you go through the three different seasons available. So for that entire time, you'll be driving one type of car, the F430, which might leave even diehard Ferrari fans wanting a change. After you do many seasons of course he will be able to play with new cars, but that is if you win most of the races provided for you.
You can check out all the cars in the game from the F430 challenge which is at the beginning of the game. There will be around 50 odd or so cars which you can race as, as I also mentioned above, probably all Ferrari types.
When playing you can play the camera at different angles, up to 5 I believe. Sometimes the camera positions provided are in a really bad position, so sometimes it is better to stick with the original.
Overall it is a pretty awesome racing game, just the lack of good customs puts it down and the tracks. You can currently buy the game off amazon at £12.49, which was when it came out £49.99.
I thought this game was a fantastic deal awhile ago at 29.99 as I heard it was great. When, I got home and tried it, the story was totally different. The graphics and gameplay were ok but nothing compared to Gran Turismo 5: Prologue. I got bored of the game within a couple of days and now play other racing games instead.
The graphics aren't very good on a HDTV and definately don't compare to other games of the Playstation 3. The game has no slowdown and runs very smooth but the online has lots of lag. However, the game also will be getting lots of DLC in the form of cars and new tracks!
It's a great prospect, getting to race speedy Ferrari's around some great tracks but the gameplay is rubbish. The AI isn't very good as when overtaken or challenged they will just yet you through and fall back.
However, the handling is very good and better than Gram Turismo 5.
When online I couldn't find anybody and gave up after half an hour. I took the game back and I would reccomend people to buy GT or Grid instead.
purchaesd the game for £29.99 on sale from my local GAME shop and i can now see why it was on sale! being a massive ferrari fan this game was a must purchase for me as soon as it came out.comparing it to gran turismo five prologue which i also own the graphics and gameplay do no-where near compare to it. it is leagues behind it on the graphics front and i was very disappointed with the game on the whole. yes you do get to drive many peoples dream cars over 30 different ferraris from all different decades of the last century. i found the graphics comparable to some ps2 games i had owned a while ago, a plus for the game is the actual car handling which is very realistic with understeer and oversteer very realistic. during races the computer AI was very poor as to as soon as you overtake them they just fall miles behind and dont try and re-challenge you! online using the ps3 community i could not even find anyone else playing the game so could not even get a race out of it. on the whole very disappointing,
