Fifa 09 is a great addition to the series, that has to be said right off the bat. The graphics are better, the gameplay is much smoother and the overall feel of the game has been improved.

However the game is not without it's flaws. The ball still feels a bit too light and airy, almost like a balloon. Another problem I had was how in a way the game is a bit too realistic; the ball will all too often bounce off of you whilst tackling and just go straight back to the opponent, which can have you tearing your hair out in the dying moments of a game where you really need a goal. Neither of these are major issues however.

Where the game really comes to life is online. Playing head to head (or as a part of a team in a 10v10 be a pro mode), is the best part of the entire Fifa experience. Nothing quite beats smashing a goal in against someone in the last minute after a tight contest.

Overall, great game, could be better, but that's what Fifa 10 is for.

Summary: Quality game, could be better.
