Advantages: The realism of the game and the amount of real teams and players.

Disadvantages: The free kicks and goalkeepers actions.

I love the game of football and every year I look at each football game to decide if they are worth buying as both has there good points and each has there bad point. I decided on Fifa 09 as the realism is second to none and this is the same with the game play and also the fact that they have many of the real leagues, teams and players which is very important to me.

Game play

The game play is relatively very good as you get a real sense that you are really within the game. The problems are that sometime the actions of the goalkeeper surprise you as they are sometimes outrageous and the free kicks create two different types of players the ones who can take them and the ones who can not as they are very complicated when trying to score from them but once you have worked it out, goals from free kicks are scored with relative ease. Unfortunately I have not been able to work out how to score from the free kicks.

Be a Pro

This game mode allows me to live my life long desire to become a professional footballer for my favourite team (Charlton) as it allows me to build my self into the game and into any of the teams squad in the game. As you start in the reserve team working all the way to being a club legend. Playing for the club is along side the ability to take to the field and fulfil the greatest honour and play for the players country and like the club mode you can gain country legend status.

Manager Mode

This game gives you the chance to know take charge of your Team in manger mode. Some under estimate the job that there manger has to do and within the manger mode you have to make sure that you keep everyone happy from the players to the board. This playing mode is my favourite but there are some failings in this area such as I believe that the money that you see around the football are not represented accurately with in the game. Manger mode also suffers from the user finding it boring after a while and is probably the worst game mode for long periods of play but is also the most enjoyable.

Online playing

I have found that the PS3 network is always a good place to play Fifa with you being able to gain experience from game play against real life highly skilled players. When you are playing with 19 other players in a Be a Pro online game play as you take control of a single player on a team and take on another team full of humans. I really like the online mode for Fifa and I also like the trophy's that you can gain in Fifa on the PS3 as none of them are to challenging and are gained as you play the game.

In conclusion Fifa 09 is a very good game and I would suggest it to any football fanatic or sport game fanatic and I would suggest that in this summer with the football out of season it may be the perfect time to start playing football on your PS3.
