Advantages: Easy to pick up and play, good graphic detail to players

Disadvantages: Not really football as we know it

I have always loved the idea of footy games, but with the likes of Fifa (the regular game) never really got the hang of all the controls. In the real world I don't play or watch it on the TV much, so I suppose being good at the game is a hard wish. Well, Fifa Street 3 allows a more easy going, fun approach to the game and although not perfect I was surprised.

This PS3 version is rated 3. You can player 1-7 players locally, or up to 8 players online. It outputs the game graphics up to a maximum of 1080P (the highest quality you can get on todays high definition TV's).

The idea of the game is to join your small team and play against the opposition in a 'street' scenario, hence the game title. There are some well known names in there (250 international players), but I really take no notice of this, as I am playing it from a non-fan point of view. Whilst you are playing you can do tricks and build up to mega-shots to score really powerful goals. The narration that goes on along with the game is quite entertaining too. Compared to a regular footie game, this is more suited to picking up and having a quick 10-20 minute game. So suits me, because I am often busy.

I can understand why footie game fans rate it lower than normal, it is no sim, not accurate in its rerpesentation of the game. So really quite shallow. But, if you take a closer look, the graphics are polished. Nice detail and movement to the players. The play arenas aren't that great, so room for improvement here. The control method is really good though, and for me I can fluke some pretty amazing looking shots. Sound is OK, good banter during the game. It is one game where I can actually beat my son at football, which makes me smile at least.

So, in conclusion, not an awesome game, or a purist game, but well worth the £9.97 I paid for a quick bit of footie fun.
