GTA 4 is a must own game, offering hours and hours of story mode, containing hundreds of mission and side plots, for this reason i won't describe the acutal plot- in a nutshell its a character named 'Nico' who has just arrived in the city hooks up with his cousin 'Roman' who has promised him the goo dlife, needless to say things arn't as rosey as roman has described.
Whilst its a great game i will say i don't think it is as good as 'San Andreas' mostly because the fun factor has been lost a little, the developers said this was going to be a more serious game (no ufo storys etc) and it is, and its very good too, but all that fun and silliness is what made us all love this franchise etc.
Graphics are easily the best yet, and the virtual world itself is rich and very alive, explosions and action are top notch.
Controls are pretty much the same as the last few games, so experienced players will jump straight in, and easy to pick up for the newbies.
The new multiplayer modes are a great addition and one that is long over due, these offer the usual free for all and capture type scenarios, you can play either with a friend or with people all over the world and is loads of fun.
i just hope on the next one we get a game as deep and visual but with a little more of the 'fun' from previous games.
This game really wowed me as far as graphics go when I first played it. I think the step from ps2 to ps3 is a lot greater than ps1 to ps2. Once again as with previous GT games we play missions and once they are completed more missions appear on the map. The language is strong, but then it would be after all you are killing people! The game once again is very long - this is the first GT game I have completed as it is that long! Every mission is different and after the video you are locked on the mission i.e. you can't do anything but that mission. If you die you can immideatly start again. You can choose either travelling by bikme or car, I found rididng a bike more precarious but that is just like the real world! I was hooked and I am sure you will be too!
Since the first Rockstar Grand theft games that appeared on the pc in the late Nineties this has always been an instant classic closely followed by a media circus....known for it's realistic take on life and crime this is a game that has over its previous incarnations broke the mould and Grand Theft IV is no different.....the game is vast which with other games would usually compromise the detail and intricacy of the game play but not in the case of Grand Theft IV there is so much to do and so many way of doing it. The life of a eastern European immigrant in "New York" has never been so fun! If you are of the shy and retiring type then this game is not for you there plenty of killing stealing and all that goes with the life of a low level criminal trying to make his way up the greasy food chain....make friends and enemies along the way....I find with games of this magnitude that it's fun to play with a group of friends as there are so many sub plots that everyone is going to pleased...I love to do the missions and generally slaughter anyone who gets in my way whereas my friend love to go collect all the objects hidden in the most obscure places ........and as for the cars and bikes on show you wont be disappointed if you like to blear out the music from the carefully selected radio stations and drive around you will be in heaven....If you don't own this game then you should this is probably the most ground breaking and influential game of the last 5 years this has certainly raised the bar for any other developer who want to produce a role play action adventure and is certainly exciting to think that there will definitely be a 5th game!!!!
Grand Theft Auto 4 truly feels like a game on the new consoles should. The story is second to none. Like a lot of Rockstar games you feel like the characters are well developed and you care about what happens to them. You play as Niko Bellic who has come to America to live the dream. However, you soon get pulled into the criminal underworld. In my opinion this is a very well thought out story, which doesn't necessarily have a happy ending.
The gamplay is classic Grand Theft Auto. There will be chase missions, shooting missions. One of my favourites was the one inspired by the film Heat. I felt there was enough variety in the missions for me not to get bored.
The graphics are starting to age a little bit but are still fantastic for an open world game. I feel its weakest area is animation during the cut scenes. I think the characters just look a bit stiff.
The soundtrack is good but I feel like it has been better in previous games, such as Vice City. There is enough different channels to listen to though.
Grand Theft Auto is definitely the best in the series. It's not perfect but what is?
Grand Theft Auto IV is that latest installment in the grand theft auto series and it does not disappoint.
You play the game as Nico, a european man who moved to Liberty City (closely linked to New York city). The gameplay is a lot of fun, you chose a mission to do and they usually all involve killing a gang of people and when you complete the mission you get paid and unlock new missions. There are usually a few missions open at one time so you can chose what you want to do next. In some missions you have the option of making a choice such as killing one of two people and depending on what you chose to do the rest of the game will change which gives you a few different ways of playing through the game.
The graphics are amazing considering how big the game is and the controls are very easy to use. The only thing i found hard about the game when i first played was driving cars was nearly impossible, they slide everywhere, but i soon got used to it.
The only thing i found that was bad about the game was that i did get bored of it and never actualy got round to completing it becuase it does get rather repetitive.
GTA is a great game that will keep you occupied for many hours.
I recently bought this game & i would just like to says its worth every penny. The quality of the graphics etc is superb & once you start playing this game you will find it hard to stop.
The thing I like most about this game is that you decided what you want to do & when you want to do it, you do get your set missions but it is up to you if you take them or not, I think this keeps the game interesting as you can play it over and over again & not have to do the same missions all the time unlike other games. This game will also take quite a long time to complete which makes it value for money, I have had games in the past that I have completed in a couple of days but this is not possible with this game. Overall this game is brill & well worth buying
I got this game yesterday on release and after months of delays i can easily say its been worth the wait. What a game!! Firstly i'll talk about the extras that you get with the special edition. As well as the game you also get a book on the artwork, music cd with 16 songs from the game (mainly hiphop and rap), A black rockstar bag, a safety deposit box and keyring. For the extra £15-£20 this is well worth it as i will make use of the bag, cd and safety box. All made of high quality and the bag in particular will come in handy for travelling etc. Ok so onto the game. The best feature of the game is without doubt the extraordinary detail in every aspect. It's unbelievable the amount of activities you can do in the game. For example in one day of owning the game, i've played darts, pool, bowling and taken a girl out for a drink and watched a cabaret show with different acts each night. You get a mobile phone and i dialed 911 to see what would happen and you get through to emergency services and can call whoever you need out.... in my case i pretended there was a fire and then took the fire truck when it arrived to use the pistol on top. I spent 5 hours on it none stop and the career mode is gripping and there are cut scenes with some character building and plot development. As you would expect graphics are much improved from previous games on the PS2. You can even swim and in your house you can watch TV and for example there was an animated Ricky Gervais doing his stand up act which is very funny and like i said this amount of detail and depth is unbelievable. Unlike previous GTA's you can also play online with features such as cops and robbers and these are a lot of fun too although i've onlt been on a couple of times so far. To improve health you have to eat and once i took a girl to a bar and then you stumble out drunk and can either drive home in difficulty or whistle for a cab. There is a lot of fun to be had in this game however it is an 18 rated game and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone younger due to the violence and pretty much everything you do in the game is illegal in real life. For those old enough though.... it is a fantastic game and the best of the series so far!!
The Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition will be presented in a customized Grand Theft Auto metal safety deposit box.
