Advantages: good family game

Disadvantages: some bad songs

Guitar hero World Tour (GHWT) is a phenomenon, it Is such a fun game, whether you have friends over or if you play it with family. There isn't really a story to the game apart from 4 band members decide to form a band and then turn out to be the best band in the world.

The graphics are really simple, but you don't need good graphics on a game like this. The only thing I can really say is that the picture quality is still really good on a 19inch TV or a 50inch TV. The cut-scenes are quite cool and quite funny. They always include something of your band whether it be messing up or doing good.

The Gameplay is really good, you have a 5 fret board on the screen with 5 different colours, on your guitar you must match up the colours and strum, there is an easy difficulty which includes using only 3 colours. Whereas expert uses all 5 and the notes come down quicker. On the guitar you also have a slide bar which is indicated by a line of notes connected by a rope.

The drums are my favourite instrument , there are three drums (lower), two cymbals (higher) and a bass pedal (lower lower). And its almost the same just bang the matching colour drum. Beginner you don't even have to hit a certain note just hit thee drums. Expert is really hard and you have to be a bit like a professional drummer.

The microphone is really basic and you just have to sing the lyrics (slide up along the top). The next stage is star power, you get SP phrases where you collect star power, then you activate it to get double multiplier double the points, or you can activate it if you are doing a poor performance so the crowd like you more.

The sound quality is really good, there are no cover songs on this game, therefore if you like a song on the game you play the actual thing, not a cover, there are songs which are amazing sound quality that really stand out, reasons for this is because they actually had the song producers in to sing.

In conclusion GHWT is a really good game, and even better to play with friends & family, I would rate it 9.5/10 as it isn't perfect, its generally £100 if you want the guitar and drums but the game solo is £30.

Summary: a good family game
