I have played Kill Zone on various consoles and have recently played it on the Playstation 3 and have to say that it is pretty similar, except to the honest with you the graphics are a bit better and more crisp looking. The game is a first person shooter and I know there are hundreds of these games about and yes, it doesn't differ too much from the others. However, if you can pick up it up at a reasonable price then you may consider owning it if you like this sort of thing. The game is not that original though but does give some entertainment for a while.
The opening of the game is like a scene from World War II in many ways. Scholar Viscari is the leader of the Helghast army and he is seen standing in front of podium about to address his people. He claims that they have been repressed and now is the time to rise up.
The storyline is almost mapped out from the start so you are not left guessing for too long. The Helghast have risen up against their oppressors and you are fighing on the opposite side. You have to stop them from taking over everything. You begin the game as a captain named Templar. You have to defend your trenches from invading forces. The plot gets more complicated as you go along with murders and treason etc.
One of my favourite things in this game is that each character has their very own individual personality so no two characters are the same. Templar is the first who is the leader and he always has to stick to the mission plan at all times. Luger is an assassin who likes to keep a low profile most of the time as you would expect. Then there's Rico who is quite butch and loves weapons.
The biggest problem for me with this game is that isn't too much in the wya of replay value and once you've played through it once that's it really and it's the same as alot of games of this type. It's not that easy though to complete which is a bonus. There is also a mixture of stealth and all out attack, guns blazing.
Another plus point is that the game is high paced and there is alot of action and excitement. As said the graphics for me have improved on this console so that makes it more enjoyable and realistic too.
Well I'm not a big fan of first player shooter games, but after playing this game i like them less. It's full of a lot of action and a wide range of different weapons to use. the think that i like the most was the two player mode so that i could play with my friends or against them. it has a ok good story line to its just a normal combat game. the graphics were really good and so was the sound.
Occasionally you'll get to take on a tank with a rocket launcher, repel a beach assault from a fortified position, or perform some other unique, mission-specific action. More often it's simply running from point A to point B, firing at every Helghast in sight until you hit the right switch, blow up the right box, or reach the right area to advance the mission to the next event. The arsenal--which includes assault rifles, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, a vehicle-killing rocket launcher, grenades, and other genre mainstays--doesn't really pack much of a punch.
The shotgun, with its horribly slow rate of fire, is rather ineffectual; the sniper rifle's aiming system is too loose; and the assault rifles are only sporadically accurate (and while this inaccuracy might be realistic, it isn't particularly satisfying). The guns do their killing properly but with little panache.
