A little goes some way. (LittleBigPlanet (PS3))

Advantages: Charming gameplay Disadvantages: Bad controls
This game does seem to have many obvious flaws; the controls ( nightmarish and hair pullingly frustrating in tight spots), the shortness of the single player game, the laboured manner in which you play on line co operative games ( for some unexplained reason, you have wait at the start of the level until someone else joins your game, why they couldn't join you mid way through the level is not clear, it would have saved a lot of time!), and the generally poor quality of the user generated levels, yet the game works. It has a lot of charm and it's bright child like manner is a good counter to the new "mature" and dark" direction games are taking (i.e. colour everything grey and make every character a misanthrope). At it's core it's a simple platform game involing lots of jumping, grabbing and swinging; but there is something so inherently fun about the way this is done that it shouldn't fail to raise a smile on your face. Summary: Probably worth a purchase. |
