I can't agree with the other reviewers here. Midnight Club L.A. is a half-decent racer. I'm a massive fane of the Need for Speed series and, although MCLA doesn't quite compare with those games, it's not far off. As always with this type of game you start off as a newbie in LA looking to create a name for youself by winning races and challenging some of the better drivers out there. You begin with a low powered car and as the game progresses you get the opportunity to upgrade, restyle and trade-in for more powerful models. Sounds pretty samey, huh? Well it is but it will appeal tyo fans of the genre. Graphically it's pretty good although the PS3 has ... Read the complete review

Rockstar games have released the next installment of the Midnight club series, and this time the complaints have been listened to. In the previous series many buyers had complained saying it was too easy on midnight club Dub edition, Now on Midnight club: Los angeles it is anything apart from easy. I am a massive fan of the Need for Speed franchise and have bought many of the series, However thinking that I would try out Midnight Club IV: Los Angeles I rented it from blockbuster for a rather expensive £5.99 and the first impressions were exactly how they should not have been; it was an exact copy of DUB edition but just a bump up in graphics, but once you ... Midnight club Los Angeles should not be taken as a realistic driving experience but more of an arcade simulation. Races have an over-the-top go go feel, as opposed to the realistic handling of games like Race Driver:Grid. The story line is rubbish as basically there isn't really one. I thought Rockstar would make an interesting storyline due to GTA but they failed. The races feel playfully bouncy and action packed; the race path being marked out by a number of colourful flares. Hand-break turns and making corners are easily achievable but the game is difficult. I am a fan of racing games and have been a long time fan of need for speed but need for speed has gone ... This is a review based on only about 30 minutes play of the game, so it may not be accurate. However, there is a reason I only played it that long. My first experience of Midnight Club when the series began was a bad one and I have never been interested in playing another one since. But, I had heard a few good things about this one and gave it a shot. At first I was quite impressed with how the game started, the graphics looked good and the cars looked like they had quite good modification opportunities. However, my first problem was with the controls. The default is using the analogue sticks to move forward, which I didn't like so I ... Read the complete review

Midnight Club: Los Angeles is the next installment in the series from Rockstar games. The game is about street racing and the idea is that you win races and unlock better cars and modified your cars. I have always loved games where you can modified your cars. For me this game is ace. The gameplay is additive and makes you want to play on for longer. I have played this game for about 50 hours and it doesn't seem that long and im only on 83% complete. At the beginning of the game it is quite hard to win races but the more money you get the better you can modified your cars and it soon becomes easier. The range of cars is great and you even get to drive motorbikes. The only ... Read the complete review
