My personal review on modnation racers for the ps3.

First of all it is much like little big planet at the beginning of the game. You get to customise your character to what you like when you start racing, so its your choice of what you look like, which is excellent. Its pretty much easy to access your way around the game, and to find content. Online play is really a greatness of the game, it nearly is the best bit of the game itself. The gameplay lasts for hours on end without getting boring, with loads of trophies to be collecting on the way. It takes a hell long of time to load, which is really annoying, especially online, as they usually quit, then yo end up racing no one. It can get so hard at times, which is not good for younger players, so will eventually give up and get bored of the game. Little Big Planet brought the "Play, Create, Share" ethos to the PlayStation 3, and ModNation Racers applies the same concept to the kart racer. The result is a game that offers you all the tools you need to create your own karts, tracks, and racers and then easily share your creations online with the community. This provides online to have a different share of what people look like, but I dont think it takes effect on how fast you go, just the appearence changes, nothing else. Like on sonic all star racings, you first of all need to do a turitoul aka test run. Once you get the hang of racing you can quit it anytime and get ready to race in single player, or do a grand prix etc. Free roam would be excellent as well, but unfortunately they do not have this option. There are side missions you can do to, again to earn tropies and coins. You can do races, and stuff like drifts etc. The connection of the wireless router - if it is bad it will effect gameplay in the onlin races, so you may find it jammy. There are moves which can make you boost, or throw others off the track, which is really funny. The graphics are pretty good, but as usualy ps3 graphics are always good. The sounds and music goes really well along with the races.

Overall a great game. Recommended.
