If want a game that really shows off your Playstation 3 graphics, then keep reading, you are in for a treat. MotorStorm for the PS3 can be played single player, two player split-screen or online play with up to 16 players. It is rated 12+ (no idea why) and outputs its graphics at a maximum of 720P resolution.
Now this was an early game for the PS3... I think it might have even been available at release. I am still amazed today at how the team behind the game managed to get to grips with the PS3 so early on. They delivered a smooth, fluid game, with superb graphics. When I say superb, they are just amazing. Playing the game could be mistaken for FMV (full motion video) clips, but you are actually in there playing the game. The speed at which you race your opponents is amazing, with so much going on and no slowdown at all. The music and sound effects are equally as good.
Before I finish praising the graphics... when you crash, and believe me you will. It is done in spectacular style. Flames blazing, wheels spinning off, cars and buggies turning over. This is just one fantastic game.
The idea is simple, to win the race. As you drive you build up boost, which you can then use to turbo past your opponents. As you hit a jump, you can control the angle of your vehicle and landing by tilting your controller (this can be turned off in the options). The game idea is simple, but is so much fun to play that MotorStorm is a real winner.
Look out for MotorStorm 2 Pacific Rift, out soon. If it is anywhere near as good as this first game, you will have some really good fun this Christmas.
Summary: So much fun to play that MotorStorm is a real winner
