Need for speed carbon is amazing on the ps3, i started off with it on the ps2 and completed it but when i upgraded to my playstation 3 i decided i had to get this game to experience it in high definition. You can play this game on line and compete in races such as pursuit tag and pursuit knockout.
The game has a career mode and you start off deciding which car class you want to represent, these are muscle, exoitic and tuner. You can build up a crew that have different roles (blockers, drafters and scouts) to help you in races during the game.
You have a challenge series part of the game to test your skills these are Canyon duel, canyon race, checkpoint, canyon checkpoint, canyon drift, pursuit evasion, trade paint, circuit, sprint, drift, speedtrap and race wars. So there is alot on the game to try out.
You can also autoscuplt your cars, modify them etc which is fun. The game can get a bit repetitive and sometimes you find yourself spending ages on personalising your car. In general it is a good game that will keep the virtual racer happy.
If you want the best NfS game on the ps3 i would go for this over pro street mainly because it is a lot more fun than pro street, carrying on from most wanted(great game one of the best nfs) you are still on the run from the cops as you have over 1 million bounty this time instead of going it alone you get into a sort of gang of which you choose which characters you want to help also this is now called your crew you have scouts drafters and so on you chose what you want for long routes i would reccomend the scout as he would pick out shortcuts, you get my drift.
to be honest there is a slight downfall with this game. its very very short, i completed it in 2 days and i only played it for a total of 6 hours so not long. though i am quite good at these games as i have all of them and the controls and handlng is quite similar on all of them. The new feature is a 1 on 1 race down the mountain great fun but you dont want to go to close to the edge other wise the event is blown and you have toi start again (tip lotus ellise is very nippy and good round the tight corners dont think that because you have a lambo or something that you will win). overall a fantastic game
I hired this game first on the ps2 and was expecting great things. I had played need for speed most wanted on my pc to death. I played the ps2 version for about 5mins and turned it off.
I later rented it for the ps3 thinking it would be much better, I wasn't much more impressed. As a game on its own its quite good but compared to most wanted it seems poor.
The only extras i could tell over most wanted is that you played at night instead of day and you had wingmen that did things like block other cars.
This game will appeal to people whole like strapping aluminium spoilers onto various cars and putting stickers on the side of them e.t.c. which is fair enough but it doesn't feel to me that it goes passed that, focus on style and not playability.
Realism is poor aswell, when you hit a car head on at 200mph the other car simply bounces off.
if you have played most wanted this will disapoint you. The ps3 should be better than this.
wait for the next need for speed.
