Advantages: Fans of the series will like it

Disadvantages: Let us back onto the streets!

As a big fan of the ProStreet series I looked forwards to the release of this title. It's kinda different from the rest of the series as it's track-based, rather than centring on illegal street racing. I have mixed feelings about this - I found it a nice diversion but hope the series returns to its roots for future games. You play the part of Ryan Cooper and, as with all this series, the single player game centres around you starting out with fairly low powered cars and working your way up the ranks, 'pimping' you cars and buying better performing vehicles as you go. There are several different types of races to participate in - the usual straight-up "grip" races, drag racing (which is done particularly well here) and drift which, personally, I suck at! The array of cars is huge, as always, and certain classes of cars remain locked until you have won a number of races.

The best praise I can give this game is that even though I completed it some months ago I still find myself returning to it now and again, trying to win the last few elusive drift trophies.

Fans of the series won't be disappointed but EA, if you're listening, let's take it back off the tracks and on to the streets next time!

Summary: A typically good EA racer

I couldn't get into this one at all, much prefer ones on the street.
