The surroundings also look quite good from a distance or when your speeding past them. However, if you're stationary and look closely at them then there quite basic and a little blocky. You can crash through pertol stations and cranes, etc. Watching objects tumble onto police cars is quite enjoyable. Slow motion scenes also take place for big crash...more

Crowned Review Need For Speed Undercover (PS3): Need for Speed : Underground (1984 words)

Rating:

I was a big fan of the 'Need for Speed : Underground' games, back when all you had to do was get to the starting point and then race. There was no story and there was no running away from the cops every five minutes. After 'Need for Speed : Underground 2' I stopped playing these games. because it moved away from the original idea of the game and because the far better 'Juiced' was on the market. But I finally decided to give one ago and here's the review for it. ~~~ Story ~~~ I was unaware that the 'Need for Speed' games had a story nowadays, so I was surprised when the game started with a cut-scene featuring real actors and actresses. I was ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review How do you plan to outrun the cops! (226 words)

Need for Speed Undercover, great soundtrack, great cars, wonderful graphics a spatial world, but not enough realism in the destructive nature in the cars. I must say this game packs a punch for the avid street racing enthusiast. Plenty of speed and the a wide range of cars to take your fancy. Somehow I still feel like something was missing from Need for Speed Undercover, the computer AI in the mission mode, the cop cars, did not seem to have the intelligence other street car games seem to have. Nevertheless this game offered you the chance to experience the g-force all cars are made for, SPEED! Which this game certainly delivered. The online play ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Need For Speed Undercover (PS3): More of the same, unfortunately. (464 words)

Since Need For Speed: Most Wanted, I have personally felt that the NFS franchise has been slowly but surely going steadily downhill. Carbon was a massive let down, Pro Street doubly so, and then came NFS: Undercover. I have mixed views on this game, having completed the story mode, I have a few things I'd like to share with you. Firstly, the story is actually a story - with real characters and real people in the cut scenes. Maggie Q plays an agent, who hires you to "blend in, trust no-one, listen and learn". Basically, you get no help when you get into a hot spot with the local cops, and you also have to earn the respect from the other ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Quite Good. (285 words)

In the game, you play as an undercover police officer as you try to get in with an international car crime group and get enough evidence to take them down. To do this, you take part in races and jobs to gain reputation. The graphics are ok but not the best I have seen. The attention to detail isn't very good. The game has real problems when you are traveling at high speed. The shadows move at the speed of the car and the framerate will become terrible sometimes. This ruins the game and is some of the worst I have seen. The gameplay is very good and fun. I have found it to be alot better to play than Midnight Club: LA. There are lots of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Need For Speed Undercover (PS3): Great fast paced racing game (168 words)

Bringing it back to it's best. The previous Need For Speed (Prostreet) was awful, so bad infact that i didn't even bother buying it. This is how Need For Speed needs to be, back in the Need For Speed Most Wanted days. The game play is as Most Wanted, fast paced, action packed and fun of fun. The selection of cars is good. The more races you win, the more money you earn, the better the car you drive. With performance enhancing parts, tuning capabilities, numerous bodykit styles, paint colours and vinyl designs, no 2 cars will ever look and perform the same. There are loads of different races playable over numerous different racing styles. With the ...  Read the complete review
