Advantages: Fun, destruction, and some more fun.

Disadvantages: The controls of the minions.

The Overlord II was launched just two years after the first game.

This time you will be playing a new hero many years after the events in the previous game. You will have a new domain called The Netherworld, which is just below the ground. It is considerably larger than the demon tower in the first game.

The most considerable changes to the game is the ability for your minions to be able to ride mounts, the overlord will have a ship, in which he can travel the seas, and some other minor special events, where for example you must disguise your minions as small children.
And also what I consider a special part of the game is the baby seal hunting through out the entire game.

The game itself is fun and frustrating at the same time. It is always fun to be the bad guy for a change, and the little army you will be having with you, and all the chaos you will be causing is very pleasing.

The frustration about the game comes mainly from the controls. It can be difficult to control your minions, and to direct them what to do next. They also often act quite stupidly, for example they go too close to the water to pick up an item and then die. They sometimes also get stuck, but not that often.

Gameplay wise it is allright, the story is solid and the game itself is long in duration. Your overlord has different customization abilities, such as you can let your minions craft you a new weapon, armor etc. You can obviously also customize your domain.

The graphics have improved considerably when compared to the old game. The world is beautiful. And the sound is nice, I specially like the new theme song.

So to conclude this review, Overlord II is a quite big improvement from the old game, there are lots of more things to do, areas to explore, more attention to detail has been turned. But the thing that makes this game alot less enjoyable are the controls, which can turn you crazy. The minions are smarter than in the previous series, but they still are not no brain geniuses.

Summary: An enjoyable/frustrating combo, though I still like it.
