... being a host of new weapons for you to wiled into battle with, larger enemies and much better AI. When i say larger enemies i quite literally mean titanic. They have some crazy baddies for you to attack this time round! There have been no changes to the controls, meaning you can go from the first to the second game seamlessly. One clever change is that you can only carry two weapons at a time. Making you think ahead for situations and what weapon/weapons you actually need. This game follows the story of the first which...more

Crowned Review Resistance 2 (PS3): Resists the Temptation to be Excellent and Settles for Above ... (1369 words)

It's an unwritten gaming rule that whenever aliens get all sassy and decide to attack the human race its going to be down to an assortment of absurdly macho special ops types to put their hats on straight again. You know, the kind of men who are one ill-fitting leotard and some ridiculous facepaint away from being capable deputies for your typical WWE wrestling line-up. It's another unwritten rule that at some stage an enormous explosive device must be hauled into the depths of the enemy mother ship by their glistening biceps before the ten-titted master alien pushes the big red button and unleashes the apocalypse on our unsuspecting human arses. In this sense at least, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Super second installment (302 words)

Resistance 2 is the follow up game to Resistance fall of man. Which to put bluntly was outstanding, being the first 1st person shooter available on the ps3. So the second game in this wonderful series had a lot to live upto in terms of graphics, gameplay, and multiplayer. And you will not be dissappointed, the graphics have been vamped up and look stunning, loads of gorgeous locations and awesome looking rivals. Other great improvements range form there being a host of new weapons for you to wiled into battle with, larger enemies and much better AI. When i say larger enemies i quite literally mean titanic. Premium Review Resistance 2 (PS3): Utterly unmissable (504 words)

Resistance 2 is the second game in this fanstastic series. Again we follow Sgt Nathan Hale in the events that occur after the events which happened in Resistance Fall Of Man.. The graphics in this installment have been given a huge kick up the jacksie (this is not to say the graphics in the first game were awful because they were far from it) But none the less the graphics are far more impressive. With a selection of new weapons and a couple of returning favourites, this game stays true to its roots and keeps that base level of familiararity for previous players to build on. While we are on the subject of weapons, In the first game you were capable ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Phenomenal Follow-up (394 words)

Rating:

Resistance 2 is a great game, the story is well written and holds your interest. And the Graphics have mass improved since the first Resistance came out. The graphics are Beautiful. Perhaps the biggest difference between the first and second Resistance is the huge leap in graphics. Everything from the unique design of weaponry to environments in which Hale must battle through are done very well. The sound is everything you would expect from a sci-fi type of game; screeching and deep bellows from enemies lurking in the shadows, explosions from a variety of sources all aimed to make the scene that much more hectic, and music that fits the mood perfectly for each and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Resistance 2 (PS3): An inferior sequel to an underrated game (439 words)

Apparently I was one of the few out there who actually enjoyed the first Resistance on the PS3. Before writing this I went back and re-read my review of the first game and was surprised to see I'd only given it three stars. I might actually be going back to that review at some point because in the months since I can honestly say my opinion has changed significantly. Resistance 2 continues where the first left off. The world is overrun by alien invaders called the Chimera, these manifest themselves in a variety of forms. Fishlike, manlike, giant stomping enemies and invisible behemoths. The setting however has moved from the UK to the US. The plot is largely ...  Read the complete review
