Rock Band (PS3)

I had been debating buying this game, alas though I just wasn't sure I could justify the money, you have two rather large expenses, first of all the usual price of a game which is currently £35.99 off Amazon, this will give you a game to put into your playstation, however that isn't an awful lot of use without the instruments to actually play the songs, the 'band in a box' will set you back then a further £97.89 from amazon (both prices mentioned have been written as new). We bought Rock Band (PS3) a couple of days after it was released for PS3. After buying all of the Guitar Hero games and Sing Star, the release was very much anticipated. It is of a similar format to Guitar Hero if you're playing solo on a Tour with a list of songs to play which will unlock the next level up of songs. You can play easy, medium, hard or expert. I would say the medium was between easy and medium of Guitar Hero, and the Hard is just a bit harder than the Guitar Hero medium, so it seems a bit easier than GH on guitar. I know that rock band has yet to be released here in the UK for the ps3 but after much disappointment waiting I decided to buy a copy of the US version. (just a quick note to say that the ps3 is region free for games) I am so glad that I didn't wait as I got this game in February and would have missed many happy hours of playing time. This is absolutely amazing! I didn't realise this would be so much fun and pass so many fun filled hours with friends. It comes with a set of 4 drums, a guitar and a microphone, and we got a free guitar hero guitar which is also compatible with rock band. The drums and guitar are definitely the most addictive, and although it can seem quite hard to begin with, practice definitely makes a difference. In the U.K, the Rock Band franchise has been almost completely overshadowed by the Guitar Hero franchise, namely the Guitar Hero: World Tour game. However, in my opinion, Rock Band 2 is the far superior game. The track list (84 songs with a further 20 free to download) has great variety and is sure to please most music fans.
