Advantages: You can listen to your own music and have snowball fights with your friends

Disadvantages: Too restrictive to be entertaining for a long time

I love snowboarding games. I grew up on coolboarders and then SSX. When I got a PS3 and saw this game I jumped on it but I was in fact a little disappointed. I think that for me the game is almost too realistic. I like the setting, there are just some huge mountains and you pick where you want to go and go any way down the mountain you like. En route there are many different interactive parts of the mountain to amuse yourself with and on the way down you can get involved in different challenges. One of my favorite things is the other riders on the way down that you can throw snowballs at.

The graphics entertained me. There is something enchanting about mountains that just mesmerize me and the whole time in this game there are beautiful backdrops of mountains. For me though the tricks were too hard to do in this game. I want a game where I can push the envelope, where I can do things that would be impossible in real life. I want a game that frees me to break every bone in my body but not feel an ounce of pain. This wasn't that game.

I also found the storyline in this game wasn't up to much, Shaun White sets you challenges and then you go off and try them. The challenges were a pain in the rear, too difficult. Not too hard to do what was required but too hard to do it in a way that the game found acceptable. Without completing every one of these pesky challenges though you cannot progress onto cooler things.

It does have good integration with the PS3. You can play your ps3 playlists through the game so your listening to your own music which is a nice touch. It also utilizes play station network so you can play against your friends or just ride around with them having snowball fight, though I never had any friends with this game to actually try it out on.

Summary: Buy it if you find it for cheap and your friends have it, otherwise save your hard earned cash
