Advantages: Good For A Laugh With Your Mates, Definate Party Game.

Disadvantages: Wired Mic's, Limited Content

When we talk about "Next Gen" games we expect a high standard of quality and something new!, this sadly is not the case with this title.
Ok so the graphics are souped up to HD quality but i cant help but feel that this is a sorry waste as when you are busy following the words and notes you don't have time to appreciate the 1080p music video in the background.
The microphones feel cheap and plastic, as a singer myself i cant help but be dissapointed by the quality, but to their advantage they are quite sensitive and you don't need to hold them right up to your mouth to be heard.
The voice / note reckognition is sub standard also, humming along to most tracks will get you a better score than actually singing them in key, now maybe it's just me but singstar seems to pick up ladies voices better than mens which makes it pretty hard to get a decent score if you have a throaty voice!.
The wires are a bit of a nuisance what with all of the ps3 consoles new wireless features, you would imagine that London Studio would have wanted to show us their brilliance and give us a wireless mic set, but alas we get the 2nd rate stereo jack with a converter box to plug into the controller slot.
There are 30 tracks loaded onto the disk for you to choose from with the option to update content from the elusive singstore, from the 30 there are a couple of good tracks on there for crooning along to but i think that at this price the content should have been a lot more and the fact that there are no free downloads on the singstore is a bit of a let down for folk who have forked out for the game as new tracks will set you back around £1 gbp each.
so to round off no wireless mic's and limited track options for the initial cost, i'd stay away from this title if you are a lone gamer and hold off for the update with wireless.
However if your a party nut and love having mates around for a drink and making a bit of a fool of yourself then you'll probably have hours of enjoyment out of this title and it's downloadable content, just make sure you have a credit card at the ready if you want to sing something you actually like !.

Summary: If You Like Maximum Content For Your Money, This Title Isn't For You.
