Sonic has been on a downward spiral for some time now with new needless gimmicks and characters seemingly added in every new carnation of the franchise and this game is no different. To begin with the loading times in the game are ridiculous. It can take between 8-15 seconds easy just to load up a cut scene which could simply last 10 seconds itself and then reload back up the original location. It totally destroys the fluency and believability of the game. There is no real point in the hub world as it serves no overall purpose to the game and the mix of having to use the speed of Sonic, the telekenesis of Silver (thats right, telekenesis !) and the ... Sonic the Hedgehog on the PS3 and Xbox 360 is a perfect example of the videogame industry's weaknesses. It is without a doubt the most poorly coded, sloppily designed game I have ever played. That this game was approved for release by the publishers is remarkable, even more astonishing is that the consumer would be expected to pay £40 for this mess. That this game can not be returned as a defective product also shows a failure of this country's trading standards body to really understand software development. This game is not merely bad, it is broken. The code is so inefficient that the game requires all too regular periods for loading. On many occasions you ... Read the complete review

Wow, what a mess. After a hugely disappointing Sonic Heroes and a laughably bad Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Team managed to make it three flops in a row. Ashamedly named after the classic original Sonic title from 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog introduces more useless characters to the series, the main one being another hedgehog called Silver who has telekinetic abilities, hmm... The game engine along with its controls are quite possibly the worst ever seen in a video game of the stature of the Sonic franchise. The controls are horrendous, while slowdown is a regular annoyance. Glitches are almost as common as rings, meaning level progression is horribly ... Read the complete review

Sonic has failed in games recently and this is one of the worst. The controls for sonic are so bad it acually makes you throw the controller, The only fun is playing as Silver and maybe Shadow The thing is roming around town doesnt make you feel like your playing a Sonic game Oh, and the loading screens the loading screens suck so hard it takes 3 minutes to load and the voice actor suck. Sonic has become roadkill The story isnt bad but makes you feel sick when you think about how sonic and a princess fall in love...WTF?! Sliver's story is the best as is his controls although thats not saying much. To be honest I dont know much Shadow so I ... Read the complete review

From my past experiance with Sonic the hedgehog games they are aimed at children around the eight or nine age bracket. However this game is really very hard to play hence the twelve plus age rating, the trouble is no one over the age of twelve would want to play this! The little ones love trying to have a go but the controls are complicated and it is hard to navigate, especially with the jumps and staying on the rails. The graphics are great just what you would expect from the playstation three very sharp and clear but not at all lifelike but then how lifelike is a blue hedgehog? As I said the gameplay is very difficult to master especially for the age ... Read the complete review
