Advantages: Oldboys will love this. Good game, Could play this for months.
Disadvantages: Graphics could be better, can be frustrating.
Genre: Fighter
Players: 2
Online: Yes
The latest installment of Street Fighter finally arrived on the next gen platform! With improved graphics (although not truly next gen optimum) the SNES beat-em-up favourite is back.
The game is what you'd expect from the usual Street Fighter series. 2-D fighting at it's best, with all the usuals. As you can probably tell from the game cover, fan favourites Ryu and Ken are back for Hadouken madness!
If you've played Street Fighter before, you will find it easy to remember all the special moves and how the game plays, but if you're new to the series and have not played much fighting games before, then be prepared to take a few beatings, while you try to climb that steep learning curve. Arcade mode is probably best to practice with, but online play is where the real frustration can kick in in this fast paced fighter. Novices, be warned; don't expect to win fights straight away (I think I had about 20 fights before I recorded my first victory :S). It can become frustrating getting beaten to death repeatedly, but it does get better from there. The build of skill makes the game more enjoyable and equally challenging and is definitely worth trying. The online modes could keep you occupied for months with the obsession to become the best!
Overall: a good game that the fans have been waiting for, but may be a little frustrating at times for new comers.
Summary: The next gen Street Fighter you'd expect. Worth trying.
