There are 10 races to choose from, each with skills to suit the player's needs and I'd say that's plenty of choice! Besides the appearance and race, one must also later choose skills and attributes. I won't get into how they work but they basically govern what type of character you control, for example a stelathy character suited to thieving or a strong character suited to battle. There is so much to choose from here too, and ...more

It'll be hard to write about such a vast game in so few words because even with no online, this is a game that will consume your life, and one that consumes much more time than many online games. It's an RPG and the fourth in the Elder Scrolls series, all of which, even with the bad graphics are huge games revolving around a story to do with a different section of Tamriel, the name of the Entire Elder Scrolls map. Although this is the fourth game in the series, the attention has really revolved around the last 2. Though it should be noted that that the first game, Arena is now freeware so therefore free to download. The second game, Daggerfall is not. Oblivion ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PS3): Don't send this title to Oblivion! (1214 words)

From the great Bethesda comes this legendary action RPG in it's 4th canonical installment. In it's first foray onto console platforms it doesn't dissapoint. The game, and in fact the series, takes place on the mythical continent of Tamriel, a place divided into 9 provences. The provence in which the player travels is known as Cyrodiil. The game begins with the player in a prison cell for an unknown reason. The Emperor of Cyrodiil, Uriel Septim, is escaping a band of assassins and it just so happens there is a secret escape route in your cell. You are entrusted with an amulet shortly before the Emperor is killed, which you are instructed to take to a monk who ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Oblivion - Possibly the best PS3 game available. (308 words)

Oblivion is a single-player game in which you play the part of finding the unkown heir to the throne in the province of Cyrodiil. The previous emperor has been killed and so the gates of Oblivion were once again left open and they need too be closed. It is then up to you to find this heir to the throne and then once again close the gates of Oblivion. Oblivion is probably the best game in many respects available for the PS3. From its launch it has caused a mass of popularity and for good reason too. When I first played on this game I was simply stunned by all that it had to offer. Firstly the graphics are absolutly superb and they really add to the ...  Read the complete review

If this the first time you've ever read or heard about The Elder Scrolls Games or, in particular, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion then there is a question I must ask you: Are you busy? With over 200 hours of playing time for the story mode and almost unlimited hours of play time for a free-roaming adventure this game will keep you busy. And although the age is set at certificate 15/16 here in the UK; it really has got something for everyone. Now The Elder Scrolls games are nothing new and The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is the fourth instalment in the series. In fact, the game itself was actually released last year on PC and the XBOX 360 but the PS3 ...  Read the complete review
