Advantages: Excellent realisation of MMA, wide variety of fighters and moves
Disadvantages: A little tedious after a while
UFC Undisputed is a fantastic videogame realisation of the real-world MMA organisation, the UFC. It features almost all your favourite fighters across the 5 familiar weight classes, and so will be instantly familiar to those who enjoy watching the UFC.
However, this familiarity does not mean you know how to play this game, and as such you should make it your number one priority to go through the tutorial before you start UFC Undisputed. When I got the demo, I tried jumping in. It was not a good idea. The fighting system is so different from any other fighting game that you really need to be taught, and have lots of practise with this system before you actually step into the octagon. It's a system that is reasonably simple to learn, but very difficult to master, and you're likely to lose a lot before you really get the hang of it.
All that said, the fighting system is very well thought out and really does a god job of capturing every aspect of MMA, from boxing and wrestling to BJJ and Muay Thai. The game works just as well on the ground, as it does standing up, in fact even moreso what with all the intricacies of the ground game that are thrown in.
Career mode is a nice addition, but in reality, it's just a lot of single matches linked together, but it's nice to build up your own character through this mode (indeed, it's the only way to play this mode).
All in all, it's a brilliant fighting game, an absolute must for MMA fans and heartily recommended to other fighting fans. It's a fighter unlike any other you've played, but it's well worth your time.
Summary: A must have title for all MMA fans
