Whether your in the mood for a driver, a shoot em up, or you just wanna take to the skies and cause some carnage then warhawk has it all rolled into one neat little online warfest.
I recieved a review copy of this as an apology from playstation for my blu-ray drive knackering up and needing to cash in on my manufacturers warranty. Nice touch playstation excellent customer service!.
This however is nothing to do with the title in itself which is an excellent addition to any good gamers collection.
In warhawk you play the part of an elite soldier for one of two opposing armies, when playing on the map it's up to you how you want to fight, you can jump in and out of jeeps, tanks, planes gun and missle turrets all for the greater good of your team.
The graphics are fluid and there is little if any at all lag on the gameplay, the only downfall in my book is that there is no storymode game outside of the online play so to get good you'll spend a while getting picked off by other gamers while you suss out the controls and tactics if you just jump right in and play, however you can play through the training missions and get a lil better at it before joining an actual game and playing for real. I just prefer the hit the front line tactic and hope you suss it before someone offs you.
There is a great arsenal of weapons at your disposal and you cant help but have hours of fun fragging folk with grenades or snipering from a distance with the rifle all of which leads to different rewards, medals and trophies which up your ranking and lead to unlockables likle custom costumes and vehicles.
If you are considering buying this title my advice to you is stop considering and buy it now, playstation are constantly adding new maps and content to the store that you can download for a reasonable price and the servers are always busy with gamers playing this so you'll never have to wait for a match.
So ok I never payed for my copy, but i'm sure glad that when playstation sent me out a title they chose this one, all in all warhawk is a good all rounder that will have you hooked to your ps3 like it's a life support machine.
