Disadvantages: Some Major Characters Missing. No Career Or Season Mode. Can Be A Little Repetive

I love sports games. I can play them time & time again without getting bored & still enjoying them. This for me is the same with Westling games & I can have loads of fun on them. The main thing I have againsts Wrestling games now though is that I'm 30 & don't care about the modern crop as much as I do about Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior & Ric Flair. So when I heard of Legends Of Wrestlemania, I was interested.

With me hating to pay full price for anything & the game being a Wrestling game (which don't hold there value for trade) I thought that I would wait to buy the game. I bought it recently for £7.99 from Gamestation Preowned athough the did offer it for £9.99 new. I've played it quite a lot since.

I personally find the game very fun. It plays in some ways very much like the classic arcade machine where you played as a Tag Team or in a Battle Royal. The characters are big & chunky. The controls are basic & simple although there isn't button mashing involved. There are also little timing events that occus at certain points, where you watch & have to hit the correct button at the right time.

The roster includes 40 of the classic WWF / WWE supperstars of the past including most of your favourites (although some very famous ones are missing like Macho Man Randy Savage). The main selling point of the game is the Wrestlemania recreations in Tour Mode. You either relive the match trying to interact with the scenery to make sure all the things that happened re-occur. Re-write the match by helping the original loser to win or redfine the match by selecting who you want to play as & taking part in the match but changed slightly (although you can't pick the change - shame). This is lots of fun playing through the classic matches that you remember.

I'm not sure how long lasting huge fans will find this as their is no career or season mode. There is a Build Your Own Wrestler followed by Legend Killer mode, but this does get quite repetitive.

Also on the plus side, you can play against or coperate with other players over the internet plus there are multiplayer options available on one console & loads of different match modes available but mainly in exhibition.

I would recommed the game for people who like Old School wrestling. The game gives you a great feel of what Wrestling was like with the pre match Trash Talk & over the top personalities. It is good fun to play even if it is slightly repetitive (although I think SDvR can be quite repetitive too). This will keep you occupied & reliving your childhood in short arcade bursts again & again.

Summary: Not perfect, but enjoyable & will entertain. Especially people who remember the classic wrestlers.
