Hmmm. A 2D screen-to-screen platformer? Wouldn't it be more at home on a Super Nintendo or a Sega MegaDrive? Well no, because Abe's Oddesey is still one of the most addictive and compulsive games available on the pension loving PlayStation. You start the game as Abe, a Mudokan on the planet Oddworld. It has been left up to you to save all your other Mudokan friends from the factories in which they work, and, unknown to them, will end up being served as tasty treets on the dinner plates for millions. Abe uncovers this plot and goes out to free his friends by pulling levers and pressing switches. And chanting. Yes, chanting. Being a Mudokan, Abe ... Read the complete review

This is game where you play the part of a little alien called Abe who stumbles upon a plot developed by their employers to 'turn them into lunch'. It is then up to Abe to try and save himself and his friends from the meat plant and to do this he has to pass through several obstacles such as meat grinders, guards and puzzles, only assisted by the power to talk to fellow aliens and to possess the mind of an enemy using 'chant'. This game is a good buy for those who like a bit of action combined with a bit of brains. I found that when I first purchased this game I could not leave the screen for hours and even continued playing long into the night. Do not ... Read the complete review

The weird world of Abe saw a new, caring and sharing vibe come to gaming. Abe's a nice guy, helping his friends escape from a nasty factory. Plenty of new surprises and a great game. This was a game which seemed to appear out of nowhere but when it did appear, it certainly made a name for itself! The storyline is good and the graphics aren't too bad, either! The game is a worthy purchase indeed and is now available on the 'Platinum' range. ... Read the complete review

This game may seem a little weird but it is thorouly enjoyable most of the time. You play this weird alien thing and you have to go around saving his mates whilst avoiding robots which have taken over there world. You can not kill the enemies yourself, but you have to avoid them. There are plenty of puzzles to solve but none of them are particulary hard although they are brain taxing enough to make it enjoyble and not frustrating. The game is all 2D but the graphics are still very good and the effects are brilliant. The charcters are really good and even have there own language which you use to communicate with the other creatures you come across and if you aren't ... Read the complete review

I have played both the Abe games and I think they are great! Getting used to the controlls can be a bit tricky to begin with, as different combo's make Abe say different thing's. And Abe needs to talk to his fellow workers to save them! The Idea of the game is to save all, or as many of the fellow madokens as possible. You can do this in a number of different ways. First you have to say hello to them and then ask them too follow you. you then have to lead them to a port hole, without killing them, and chant to release them! this is the only way to save them, but there are different ways to get them there! You have to sneak past sleeping sliggs ... Read the complete review
