... from only a few different game types such as a league or a friendly. The football matches and footballers you control do not exactly flow well. There are quite a few bugs in the game some so large that the game can actually be spoiled completely. There is one bug for example where you can always score from the half way line if you are in the correct position. The goalie runs out of the goal too far and does not get back in time. The graphics are something of a yesterworld. Blocky without detail. The only good point to ...more

Crowned Review Adidas Power Soccer (PS): Worst football game ever (1387 words)

I brought Adidas Power Soccer about two years ago, as I thought it looked quite good. I rushed home to play on it, and I was disappointed from the first glance. It is obviously a very old game (about five years) so you cannot expect too much from it. Anyway, here are the details about the game: Adidas Power Soccer is obviously a football game. You have to select your team, and you can either play against the computer, or with a friend. There are many teams to play with, which includes international clubs, international teams, and English clubs. They all have the same type of skills, so it does not matter how good the reputation of this team is in real life. If ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Adidas Sponsored Football (362 words)

As well as my 'quest' to find the best tasting alternative tea, I've also embarked on a sub-mission to review the all-time classic football games (...oh, the excitement!). So far, I've taken a look at 'Sensible Soccer' and 'Actua Soccer' - two gems from the past, whilst todays review takes me right back to the memorable summer of 1996 and 'Adidas Power Soccer'. Made by Psygnosis, Adidas Power Soccer was actually the first game I owned for the Playstation as it came free with the console. At the time, I was new to all the next-gen malarkey and was incredibly impressed with the graphics - the likes of which I had never seen before. Looking at the visuals now, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Adidas Power Soccer (PS): COOL GAME 4 EVER! (866 words)

Beware; this is NOT an opinion on Adidas Power Soccer 2, but the one that came before, it, Adidas Power Soccer. For the price of around £7 (from any local bargain bin) you can get all of these on Adidas Power Soccer: * Poor Graphics * Annoying Commentary * Unrealistic Goalkeepers * False Player Names * Un-Intelligent computer teams * Un-inspiring Crowds * Referee’s that make you want to hit the TV * Stupid score lines * Adidas adverts at half time * No challenge at all * A GOOD GAME! Yes, despite of all the faults and annoyances, APS is still a brilliant game. ~ Aim of the ...  Read the complete review

adidas power soccer ain't that bad (402 words)
by - written on 03/10/01
Rating:

Adidas Power Soccer provides two different modes of play in one package - a simulation mode, which is as slow and drawn out as real soccer, and an arcade mode, where added speed, fewer fouls, and a variety of special moves, kicks, and attacks make for fast and furious gameplay. With these two modes Adidas Power Soccer rises high above the standard soccer fare. Power Soccer looks good. The detail of the field is as accurate as it gets on a 32-bit platform. The scrolling is great, and the obligatory Adidas shoe ads along the walls are always crisp and clear. The players are animated through the use of motion capture technology, which gives them very lifelike ...  Read the complete review

This has to be one of the first 3D football games I played, if not the first. The game is a far cry from the more popular football games you can purchase today such as PES and FIFA. The game features a variety of different teams. You can select a team to play with and then select from only a few different game types such as a league or a friendly. The football matches and footballers you control do not exactly flow well. There are quite a few bugs in the game some so large that the game can actually be spoiled completely.
