Advantages: Challenging, exciting and suspenseful
Disadvantages: Insomnia as a result of not being able to stop playing
We have finally moved on from the normal platform games of yester-month. Forget your "Frogger" or your sports games, here is a game that is challenging, and above all, true to the last film in the saga of "Alien". Despite the graphics which lack compared to Playstation 2 (face it, all graphics lack on other game platforms that aren't Playstation2), "Alien: Resurrection" is a no-holds-barred, shoot-em or die adventure. You have three levels of difficulty: easy, normal or difficult. Four characters that will guide you through your adventure along the way, and an arsenal of weaponry we are all so familiar with in the "Alien" saga. No sugar coating here, you have to work and be extra sharp to excell to the next level. Run out of shotgun shells? Guess that alien is gonna eat you for dinner! Want aliens attaching themselves to your face? Want to meet up with the big, double jawed meanies? Want to avoid fountains of acid blood during a mean gun fight in the dark? Go rent or buy this game. Soundtrack? Who needs it?!?!? Not me. I love the silence when walking or creeping through a dark corridor. The only sounds are the faint huff and puff of a sleeping alien "somewhere" in the room, or an explosion off in some sector or bay of the ship. All create a mood that keeps you on your toes, and wondering what is behind that corner. It has to be one of the best games I've ever seen for Playstation. I'd rank it above "007: Goldeneye" any day. Well worth the time and money.
