It has fallen upon Acclaim to convert one of the best and highly acclaimed horror movie franchises to PSone with their recently acquired license. The game has been described as a doom clone in the Aliens theme and in my mind delivers with solid graphics and atmospheric sounds, really transferring the suspense, horror and isolation of the movies through to the console. The films Alien, Aliens and Alien 3 are of course the trilogy the game is based upon, and it is set in the first person, and plays and looks like the PC classic doom. Well back in the days when Doom ruled the roost as the only true great 1st person shooter it was bold of Acclaim to not only challenge their throne but to do so with a film title. We all know how bad many games have been when based on a movie or TV series so it was always dodgy to see how this would pan out. Luckily it was well recieved. This is the way I really liked 1st person shooters, straight to the point with very little cutscenens, just get on with it and thats what happens here in the Alien Trilogy. You blast your way through each level killing all manner of Aliens on your way. Watch out for those face clinging ones though because their scary as hell ... Read the complete review

Ok, so its not ET that we all know and love but this game involves you blowing away many beings from another planet. In 1980, a film generation was born. With the advent of the first Alien film, an entirely new genre of Sci Fi had evolved. Basically this film contained a few helpless space travellers being attacked by an invincible Alien being. This creature had acid for blood and lived a 2 cycle life. It started off as a "face hugger". This laid an egg in the "host's" throat. The Face Hugger then fell off and died.
