This tennis game shocked me quite a bit. When I first saw the review of it in a Playstation magazine I thought it would be sh*t. Then I got the demo of the game from a magazine put it in and played it. It was fantastic. Usually Tennis games on any console are rubbish but this brought new life into them. It was a cartoon tennis game with the only real tennis player Anna Kournikova in it. I really enjoyed playing the demo but it only let you play with three of the layers and do 3 games. I wanted to buy it but I put it off for ages and forgot about it. Then I was thinking of a game to buy and I found the demo of Anna Kournikova again and I thought to ... Read the complete review

This is very similar to the original smash court tennis repackaged with a licenser on the box. With 24 players both male and female to choose from there are plenty of different aspects of your game to practice with. Each player has different strengths for example the simple aspect of harder serving in the mens game. There are fourteen courts on which you can play on. Many of them are based on real courts but some are just for fun like on the great barrier reef. In addition to the normal game of tennis move around and hit the ball etc... there is a second game mode. In smash blast you can have up to four human players. Each team has five men and ... I've been searching for a decent Tennis game on the Playstation and this is the second one I tried, the first being Actua Tennis which I rented and found to be quite good. Upon searching PLAY magazine, by far the highest rated Tennis game was Anna Kournikova's Smash Court Tennis, so I gave it a try and rented it. I would have preferred a realistic tennis game but I accepted that this was a cartoon style game and gave it a go anyway. Straight away I was very unimpressed as I loaded up a match and found the graphics to be a bit under-par and the ball surprisingly hard to hit at times. I have to pay credit where it is due, the game does ... Read the complete review

Don't be fooled into buying this game just because there's a cracking picture of Anna Kournikova on the box, you'll be sadly disappointed, apart from the start up sequence that's it. The cartoon graphics are simplistic and courts are annoying, following pre-set routines at the end of every point (e.g in the London tournament a red bus drives slowly past). In all this game reminds me too much of Super Tennis on the SNES and this is probably why I felt let down. Within five minutes of playing it I had worked out how to win every point, from then on it was boring. I didn't get very far with winning the different types of racquets, the ...
