Another fundamental problem ... more ... suffered by Baby Felix Tennis (and indeed more or less every tennis game I've played except from Top Spin) is that once you have discovered a weakness in your opponents game, it becomes a bit of a chore engineering points so as to expose them in more or less the same way point after point. Of course, this is much a legacy of the hardware limits of the PlayStation as it is the fault of BFT. Making truly effective, adaptive A.I in games of this ilk obviously isn't easy.

Sticking with the PSOne format as it ambled leisurely towards a well-earned and relatively dignified retirement in the early part of the new millennium was not always the easiest of times – the 'latter years' (which I sight as the period 2001-2004) saw the gigantically popular console fall from prominence with an alarming rapidity; instigated by the oncoming of superior hardware and the sudden lack of exclusive games brought about by the majority of 'big' developers jumping ship to develop for the newer machines.
