The Japanese are a weird bunch. Just take a quick flick through some of their gaming exports over here. While our developers churn out countless Formula One, football or shoot-em-up games, those inventive chaps across the world in Japan have been slaving away over a hot hypodermic, making the oddest games possible. We've had Parappa the Rapper, a paper-thin dog rapper attempting to woo his sunflower girlfriend with the help of a rather hip onion, we've had Vib Ribbon, a rabbit which will follow a path, as set by any CD you have, and countless other fantastic, hallucinogenic gems. Well now we have Bishi Bashi Special, a game which has already enjoyed huge success, ... Read the complete review

At first when the Bishi Bashi game was reviewed by a playstation magazine, the game looked not bad, with sound graphics and a huge amount of enjoyable mini-games. My first impressions of this game where as in the magazine, but I soon got bored after this game, in the first week. It has pathetic games, which should never have been thought of. Only 1 in 10 of the mini-games are worth playing more than once and the rest are just for the small minded. I am not quite sure what kind of people are interested in playing a game in which you have to move around trying to catch pieces of a burger in the correct order, or dance in a smooth rhythm in order to make your afro grow. I thought I would make a change by reviewing an old PS1 game. What a way to start by reviewing Bishi Bashi Special. What I liked about this game was that it is fun for all ages and for everyone really. Bishi Bashi Special is basically two Bishi Bashi games merged into one. These were very popular with the Japenese people and they loved the game...I wouldn't be surprised if they still come back to it even its the PS2 they are more interested in. In total, there are over 80 games to play. Some are really funny such as the Hyper Pie Throw which you, a bride, runs and throws a pie the furthest you can and hit a guest. When it hits one, everyone apart ... Read the complete review

This game is INSANE fun! From the moment my girlfriend and I loaded this up, we were laughing and we didn't stop until the machine was turned off. Bishi Bashi Special contains 48+ different games, although there are LOTS of variations on three or four simple themes. The idea of the game? To win as many of the 48 games as possible, of course! This does NOT take as long as it sounds due to the fact that the individual games are over all too quickly, meaning a 48 game match only takes about 30 minutes. The games are VERY easy to control and before each round, the controls are presented on screen along with a simple explanation. Fans ... Read the complete review

London Racer (PS)
A few tuning options, some vaguely recognisable landscapes
Graphics, sound, handling, lack of speed, lack of long-term play
Countdown Vampires (PS)
Quite nice visuals, solid survival-horror action, good locations
Severely unoriginal, poorly devised puzzles, gawd-awful voice-acting
