Advantages: Great fun, wacky

Disadvantages: Slightly outdated, some games are dull

Bishi-Bashi Special is a Japanese arcade game for the Playstation 1 released in 1998 by Konami. It consists of a wide variety off different mini-games in which players compete either with the computer or against each other. The games tend to be very wacky and are generally incredibly weird. For example in one game called Hyper Pie Throw, you are a bride in a church and you have to make her run down the aisle and throw a pie at the guests getting the power and trajectory just right so that your pie goes as far as possible. In another game you have to bash the buttons to shake up a soda can as much as you can to get it as high as possible when it is opened. Other games are more conventional such as some driving games and some puzzle games and others are loosely based on classic games such as Pac-man.

Playing Bishi-Bashi on your own can get a little boring but when playing with friends or family it is incredibly entertaining. There are almost 100 games for you to choose from, and using multitaps you can play with up to 8 players. Most of the games are really fun and great for competitive players. A few of them are a little bring such as some of the word games but for the most part it is really fun. Before each game there is a small instruction video which you can either skip or watch, which will explain how to play each game and the controls it uses so that you are not confused.

The graphics are cartoon-like and are colourful so it's an attractive game to look at, and it can provide hours of entertainment at any one time. It is incredibly outdated now, but it has quite a retro feel to it so has a certain nostalgic appeal. For a really entertaining and wacky game I would certainly recommend Bishi Bashi Special.

Summary: A really entertaining game
