The summer days are in full swing, hazy, happy summer music playing in the background as you continue with your daily job as an ant, of collecting food for your colony and of course the protection racket food for the grasshoppers, who would humiliate and destroy you if you didn?t. There are dangers even around the colony you must dodge and destroy spiders, wasps and all manner of other enemy bugs, but you are FLIK, the inventor ant ? there must be more to life than this, quicker ways to collect food and of course ultimately eliminate the grasshopper threat. Not long ago I bought a ps one for 'my son' and hired Bugs Life from the local video rental shop. We liked it so much we bought our own copy. At only just 4 he manages the first few levels but tends to die a lot. On level 4 he wont leave the safe entrance as he always gets killed. Get out the way, son, let me have a go! For what I thought was a kids game I love it! I'll admit I don't have much to compare it to but the standard of graphics is better than most of the other games I've seen but above all I find it very playable. This game is a platform game based on the Disney movie of the same name. This game,like the movie is developed by UK developer Traveller's Tales. They have done other platform games in the past like the pathetic Rascal. In this game you take control of Flik the ant and your mission is to protect your anthill or home from different bugs like bees and grasshoppers. You do that by using weapons like fruit and your own platform moves like the overused butt stomp. You fight through 15 levels killing bugs and doing your run of the mill platform jumping.
