Who would have thought that after all this time that great games would still appear on the Playstation? Let’s face it, Sega have had two consoles in the same time whilst the Playstation is still receiving support and new games. When the original Colin McRae was released on the PS and PC it was welcomed with open arms by the vast majority of reviewers. Overall I think it is a great game but I do find the graphics a little disappointing as often trees and other items just appear in front of you without previously being shown in the distance. The sound and colours on the game are very good; with a very natural feel to the grass and the trees this gives a good feel to the game. There is a good choice of weather conditions that include cloudy, bright or drizzle and this helps to make good races. When you chose drizzle for a rally, if your car goes onto the grass then mud appears on your car. This game is amazing!! The graphics are unbelievable, along with the silky smooth car handling! The tracks are very detailed making Colin Mcrae 2 a beautiful game to look at. There are plenty of game options which include arcade, where you can race against 6 other cars on the rally tracks around the world. My personal favourites would have to be Italy and Australia because they are very fast and there are plenty of jumps and great opportunities to do some awesome handbrake turns. Colin McRae rally speeds ahead as it gives the Ps one of its last gulps of breath. We all know the Ps is going, its been with us for so long, so its nice to see that its going out with a bang, especially with this game. This game is amazingly brilliant its tracks are so varied to the power steering in Finland to the mud gripping in the Sunny UK it will have you coming back and back and back.
