Colin McRae Rally (PS)

Colin McRae Rally is quite a good game. THe graphics are really good and the sound quality is excellent! I have found that the downside seems to be that it is limiting! I don't really know how but it really does just seem so limited. The races are great and the places are good to as well as the cars. The cars, I have found, are actually the best that I have driven on the playstation. OK, V-rally, and other rally games, not too hot, the controls are sometimes unresponsive, graphics poor, and only the elite are realistic. Colin Mcrae however encorporates all of the rally drivers, all of the cars and all of the circuits. you can change everything on the car from the steering to the gear ratios. Those annoying training lessons were really worth after all. The ‘slow down’ voice comes on. You slow down. The next thing you hear is ‘speed up.’ How utterly annoying. Colin really is a fussy person! You must drive round cones and park on the line in some tests much like GT, except in this game, you are given marks for performance ending in a pass or a fail! After you pass all those agonising tests in rally school, you can really enjoy this game brought to us by codemaster. Now you can have the real fun! This game was, for a long time, the ONLY rally game worth buying on any format. It was, and still is a milestone in what rally driving games should be like. This game is top notch, highly addictive and unsurpassed for realism. I really like the way the game feels - you can easily imagine that you are in the car and it reacts the way you would expect. The tournaments are great fun and the different countries are very realistic, each taking a time to accustomise too. There is a training school where you are taught the finer arts of rally driving and the special stage tracks are a treat.
