Advantages: Enhanced GFX from Red Alert 2, New Game Engine, 3rd Army

Disadvantages: Westwood dont do much against Cheating online

This game is the add-on to the great Red Alert 2. I am a great fan of all Command & Conquer games. I have played Red Alert 2 online every day since its release. Yuri’s Revenge however is a bit more special than all the other C&C’s because for the first time ever Westwood have added a THIRD army!! This is Yuri’s Army which consists of psychics and mind control specialists just like Yuri himself in the original Red Alert 2.

You are probably all wondering how I have managed to review this game when it is not released until the 18th of October, well, I managed to find a Full Version download of this game on a private FTP server on the internet.
I have had this game since the 24th of September and naturally, have played it every day trying to get some early practice in before its release into the shops.

Yuri’s revenge is quite similar to the original Red Alert 2 but with some minor and major changes. The only Major change is Yuri’s third force. There are quite a few minor changes, some more noticeable than others.
The graphics have been slightly enhanced and the game engine has been also updated from the original game. A few modifications have been made to the Soviet and Allied forces but not many as Westwood have tried to keep the old Soviets and old Allies against the all new army. However there have been about four new units added between the Soviet and Allied forces. And some tweaks and modifications made as well.
As a result of the changes the system requirements for this game are slightly, but not much, higher than Red Alert 2.
I have not experienced any problems at all running the game on its best settings with 1000mhz.
The only thing that sometimes proves to be a problem is internet play with a 56k modem. This problem might get worse with the new option of 3v3 clan games in Yuri’s Revenge!!
Only time will tell though, my downloaded version of the game will not work online so I will
defiantly be purchasing Yuri’s Revenge on the 18th of October when it comes out.
