... graphics are far from impressive, but I'm a die hard believer of gameplay over graphics and C&C really delivers on simple wartime fun. There is a single player campaign to undertake which manages to be challenging without being infuriating and again you can either play from GDI or NOD's point of view. The soundtrack is actually pretty good for this type of game, a mixture of hard percussive anthems to stir you to battle and creepy, ominous, atmospheric numbers which instill a sense of pre war foreboding. Premium Review Command & Conquer (PS): A Nod In The Right Direction? [V1.01] (841 words)

Rating:

Out of the five games we received as part of our PlayStation bundle so many years ago, Command & Conquer appeared the most daunting. It would be the last of the five to be played and this was when a friend, who was familiar with the series, came over to show us. Command & Conquer is a real-time strategy war game which was met with great success on it's release in 1995. Various versions of this game would appear for the videogame consoles, and these were similar to the PC hit give or take a few features. The game comes on two discs, each representing one of the two sides in global conflict with each other. Since the meteorite crashed into Earth, the ...  Read the complete review

Command and Conquer (hereafter C&C) will have you up of nights for many an hour of dedicated war strategy and mayhem. As some of you know, I recently won a PC in a raffle at my girlfriend's Christmas Works do. Well, we finally got the thing lugged home on Sunday and I instantly installed C&C, having bought it in a special edition pack for the whopping price of £19.99 (includes some extra missions so it sounded OK to me - need to get through the game first though!). The Game: --------- C&C is a role playing game, 2 opposing global powers are locked in mortal combat and each has to defeat the other for control of the world! Played ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Command & Conquer (PS): I Came, I Saw, I Conquered!!! (283 words)
by - written on 26/11/09 (Very useful, 10 readings)
Rating:

The original Command & Conquer (made by westwood studios) is getting on in years but still as fun and addictive now as it ever was. The idea is a simple one, build up your base with structures such as power plants to provide essential energy to the base, barracks and a war factory to build up a sizeable force, defensive turrets to keep out your enemy and an ore refinery or two, ore being the main resource in the game. Ore is mined by little tractory type vehicles with machine guns mounted on the front, then deposited into the refineries. There are two playable factions, GDI (the goodies) and the shadey NOD (the baddies), each faction has ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review RED ALERT! (608 words)
by - written on 16/09/01 (Very useful, 184 readings)
Rating:

THE GAME Command and Conquer Red Alert is a great sequel to the original classic war game. The game contains two discs each with about 15 missions on them. One disc is for The Allies (the good guys) and the other for the Soviet Empire (The bad guys!) The game is a fairly simple point and click military strategy game where on most missions you build a base then some war units, and then go and destroy your enemy. There are some very challenging missions, especially the missions where you cannot build a base and only have a limited amount of troops. Going into war can be very exciting as there are many different types of weapon available. You can fight ...  Read the complete review
