Advantages: Fantastic smash-em-up!

Disadvantages: 2-player mode is a let down

The appeal of trashing other cars and basically causing lots of mayhem has always appealed to me. This is why I made the decision to buy Destruction Derby Raw.

And it didn't fail to deliver. Most people will know the concept of the 'Destruction' series, but if you don't, here it is - trash other cars and win races.

Points are obtained by slamming into other cars, and points are also won by coming in higher than 10th place in the race.
Slamming into other cars should be taken with cation however, unless you are playing one of the'Battle' modes. Caution should be taken becuase, unsurprisingly, damage is caused to your car as well and it goes up quicker than you think.

There are 26 tracks to race round, delivering different twists, turns and surfaces. A lot of them are very hard and it can knock quite a bit of damage off if you slam into the wall of a corner you just missed.
Most tracks though are fun, and you will get increasingly addicted, and sometimes frustrated with the game.

To complete the 'Wreckin Racing' mode you need to obtain the amount of points required to complete each track using all your skill. Itb is quite hard in a race to get more than 1600 points and a lot of the tracks require more than this to go onto the next few tracks.
In time however, when you have got to grips with the game, you will find it reasonably easy.

The other mode is called 'Smash for $', which is basically what it says in the title. You start with $1500 and have to buy a car. Depending on points you receive, you get more money and you can buy better and faster cars.More fun and less frustrating than Wreckin Racing in my opinion.

The game also includes a battle mode which there are four different types of - Assault (race around tracks trashing each other), Destruction Derby (16 cars put in a big arena- last one standing with most points wins), Skyscraper (16 cars attempting to pu
sh each other off a skyscraper) and Pass Da Bomb, which is exactly what it says.

This is a truly wicked game, and is also quite stress releiving. The graphics are sharp and there is visible damage as well.

Buy it, definitely!
