The PlayStation port of the PC role playing adventure and action is not without its problems. The game experiences some slow-down when there are plenty of enemies on the screen. Presentation-wise, it is fine except the save and load times are somewhat lengthy and Diablo requires many memory card blocks to save. This is perhaps not surprising given the attention to detail of the game where the locations of dropped goods as well as felled baddies are noted. So for storage you can leave stuff lying around the town. For the efficient a lack of auto-arranging and rotation rearranging of items does not help with the inventory juggling. Three heroes - wizard, rogue and warrior - arrive at the village of Tristram to explore the rumours of monsters escaping from the catacombs beneath the church. The king's recent madness and death leaves the villagers unprotected and our heroes must venture into the labyrinth beneath the earth to defeat an ancient evil. This brief summary does not do justice to one of the best dungeon games for the PSX. The game's controls are easy to manage, and can be picked up very quickly, and a nice touch is the use of the shoulder buttons to automatically use potions. Diablo was one of the first games to come out on the playstation and what a game it was! in the game you can only choose three characters (barbarien, sorcerer and the Rouge) All of the characters were all very different in the fact of skills for example: the Barbarien is only good in close quarters fighting, The Rouge was an all rounder (can fight up close and use spells more eficiently) and the Sorcerer is absolutely useless in close quarters fighting but at a distance, with a powerful spell is deadly!
