*** The following review was written in November 2000. I have left the review untouched but have placed an update at the end to cover any changes since it was written. *** Driver was one of the best-selling games of last year and it came as no surprise when a sequel was announced. The prospect of another four cities worth of missions would have been reason enough for me to add it to my collection. But now it's here I'm pleased to report it's even better than I had hoped for. The developers have actually put some thought into improving the original and what they have come up with deserves to be on the Christmas list of every self-respecting ... Read the complete review

I have just recently played Driver 2, and I can honestly say that it is one of the best games that I have played in a long while. After being a big fan of the first game, I was eager to try this one out and did so as soon as it came out. The games opens with an animation which informs you on the basic plot of the game and also sets the scene for the first part of the main game. Selecting ‘Undercover’ mode, which allows you to become a driver for a gang and sometimes perform illegal deeds as you progress from level to level. The games is set much like as in the first one, with a map in the bottom corner with a shadow guiding you to towards your destination and ... Read the complete review

My title says alot about this game. Fast cars, hair-raising moments and car chases! Driver 2 is a great sequel. It has everything that made the first game a hit, plus tons of new features like the ability to get out of your getaway car and run around on foot. As such, everyone who liked the first game is going to love Driver 2 - the new types of missions, cities, and gameplay features, as well as a fantastic, original story, make Driver 2 a winner. Driver 2's story picks up in Chicago, where a mob bookkeeper by the name of Pink Lenny cuts a deal with a rival mobster. This new alliance upsets the delicate balance of the underworld, which ultimately causes a ... Read the complete review

After the sucess of Driver they brought out Driver 2. Can it get any better that Driver - Oh of course. Both games interlock with each other quite a lot. The gameplay is pretty much the same, as are the graphics, sounds and playability. You are an under cover cop working in the underworld and are tasked to achieve various missions. These vary from getting from one end of town to the other, to smashing cars up, chasing get away cars and chasing monorail trains. To start with you are able to "take a drive" which gives you a choice of 2 cities, Chicago, and Havana. Take a drive is just a chance to get to know the cities by ... Read the complete review

Imagine a thirsty engine just cluntering away, minding its on business when suddenly past comes a suped up car ripping up the road and curving up the pavement. You now can imagine driver. The game is based on an undercover pair, Tanner and Jones. You play Tanner the driver while Jones is helping you along the way. The story looks at two drug ringleaders, Vasquez and Caine. With one slight problem, they’re always at eachothers throats. It’s your job to get in with them and try to stop them. A small problem that occurs is a certain Lenny. A sligh cunning man who is stirring trouble between both. You travel through four cities: ... Read the complete review
