... for error and so the game needs to be realistically playable with the car staying close to the racing line or at least on the track all the time, unlike some games where you can get away with spending half the lap on the grass. F1 passes both of these tests with flying colours, if you play the game with a steering wheel (and you definitely should) you can tweak the handling and sensitivity easily and when you have these set-up how you like them the game will feel just how you think a formula one car should. ...more

F1 screams out of the pit lane for another year, this time however it doesn't lock its wheels and crash against the wall as the previous effort F1 2000 did. Instead it stands proudly atop the upper podium with its celebratory bottle of Champagne spraying it on all and sundry. If F1 2001 were a driver it would be Michael Schumacher hated in some corners but a winner through and through. Bright, brash and a tad arrogant it sweeps away the competition with nary a trace of humility. So what are the qualities that bestow this level of greatness upon F1 2001, there are many. The biggest test for any formula 1 game is a realistic interpretation ...

This could have been the best F1 game ever, but it got scared of GT3 on the PS2 and went running... There has been a vast array of formula one games already on the PS2, this game being tipped to be the best of the crop (Didn’t have much to go up against anyway) Many who review game on this site just seem to state what the game is and it’s features. That’s not what I am giving you, this is my pure, raw experience of the games, it’s MY opinion. Yes the game is the best of the bunch and bought it the day of it’s launch, but it’s far from perfect, it just doesn’t seem polished. I have both ...
