I brought Fifa 2001 on November 4th and since then I cant seem to stop playing it for more than 2 days at a time. The Fifa series has been running since 1994 and for its last outing on Playstation one EA sports really had to make a really good game to finish off the series for the Playstation. Guess what, the actually managed to do it. I have played every Fifa game ever except on Playstation 2. I had Fifa 95, 96, 97, and 98 all on the Sega megadrive. Then I brought a Playstation and since then have had Fifa 99, 2000 and now 2001. Each one has been better than the other but not by much. Fifa 2001 however is a lot better and more fun to play than Fifa 2000. ... Read the complete review

I've seen quite a few heated debates about this argument...ISS Vs FIFA. I for one am a dedicated child of the FIFA games. I have every FIFA game there has been on the Playstation, right back to its humble days as FIFA '96. It is simple. There is no real talent to games like this, you soon learn how to pass the ball around and scored goals, there is no art. But the die-hard players will tell you otherwise. They believe they have perfected the game and everything too it. Don't give it to this bargaining. FIFA has been going for years, not sure how far back the game goes, but I have 96, 97, 98, 99, 2000 and 2001 for the Playstation. I have always loved ... Read the complete review

Fifa 2001 is the next installment of the famous FIFA series. Once again EA Sports have improved the graphics using a new display engine. Never before have the players each looked so different, making each one a perfect individual. The kits look more realistic and finally the crowd do not look like cardboard cut-outs. John Motson produces some fantastic commetary, along side his football punters. Gary Linekar in Match of the Day style, introduces each game. If you shut your eyes, you wouldnt know whether you are playing FIFA or watching telly. The game has a few new features, there are more modes of play such as Exhibition. You cna play from on of the ... Read the complete review

Last year's game, Fifa 2000, I was pretty negative about, because although it is a great game and to someone who's never played Fifa before, it was probably the best football game avaiable, I had only recently been playing Fifa 99, and got bored of it, when I bought Fifa 2000, and so it was a great disappointment to me as except for a few improvements it was very similar to 99. Does the trend of similarity follow this year? Nope! Obviously Fifa 2001 is going to be similar in some ways to the previous releases, but there are also many new ideas and improvements to make Fifa 2001 the best football game yet. Things kept the same include the ... Read the complete review

Fifa games generally do not get hyped about in the magazines and TV, but they should be. Each and every year since 1996, we’ve seen a new and improved football game. Some years the sneaky people at EA sports introduced a bonus game, like in 1998 they brought out Fifa ’98 and Fifa: Road to the World Cup. You might think a game with the same name and gameplay each year wouldn’t get sales, but you’d be surprised about the vast improvements on the game each year. GAMEPLAY: In the game, there are a lot of features and game modes that you can play. The best is the Season/Career mode. Firstly you choose a team from a huge selection ... Read the complete review
