Released by Squaresoft in 1996 to overwhelming critical acclaim, Final Fantasy VII (FF7) rapidly became the biggest selling game on Sony’ PlayStation console, and remained in the number one spot as most popular game in consumer surveys right up to the replacement of that console with the PS2. The fantastic graphics, immense game play and engaging story got the ball rolling and paved the way future titles. The final fantasy series has sold 31 million units worldwide, and Final Fantasy 7 can claim to be the game that really boosted these figures. Although there are now FF8 and FF9 available for Playstation, in my view FF7 still remains the pick of the bunch. ...
